About The Society
|
The Society was founded in 1976 by Russell Grant, now President Emeritus, and it exists to provide a means of bringing together those actively working in, or interested in, the many different aspects of esoteric, spiritual and "New Age" teachings, such as Psychic Perception, Astrology, Palmistry, Tarot, Numerology and Healing. The aspect of sharing
knowledge across many different disciplines is the quality which has made
the Society a strong force for the dissemination of esoteric
teachings. In this context the Society's Consultants and
B.A.P.S. 'stands' have become
a regular and well known feature at many of the festivals around this country and abroad. This has also resulted in a core of Professionals
within the Society, who enjoy an excellent reputation for the breadth and quality
of their work. |
|
Membership of B.A.P.S. is open to all those interested in learning about the many disciplines embraced by the Society, and to those who work professionally in these fields. Only those who have been a member of the Society for at least six months can apply to become a Consultant Member; all applicants are examined with regard to their competency and professionalism before Consultancy status can be granted. The Society's Consultant Members are required to conform and be a signature to a Code of Ethics and Conduct*. By the act of taking out membership, a member agrees to conform to the Terms and Conditions of the Society as stated within the Society's Constitution which also includes a formal complaints procedure*(see Pages 16-18). The Society's aim in presenting this information, is to advise prospective clients of the Society's Consultants and the public at large of what they may expect of a competent professional in these fields, as well as informing applicants for consultancy status what is required of them. |
